With Native Sun you never have to wonder about their actual commitment to the local, organic, whole foods they advertise,  and Meghan Fiveash’s new position is living proof!

Meghan has just started a new role within Native Sun that focuses on supporting local, organic farmers and helping them get their products on the shelf. This support is key for some smaller farmers who might need (and like) some help navigating the process and certifications Native Sun has in place for every item that hits its shelves. Meghan has said her role has certainly increased local vendors, and some have even tweaked ingredients or a process of their products so that can sell at Native Sun.

Another reason that Meghan is so excited about this position, is that the community of vendors’ right here in town has grown so much that it has made this support role necessary in the community. Her goal “is to support and help local vendors grow, because they [the vendors] support the same local and organic food systems that we do.” Native Sun has always been a support of sustainable agriculture and you’ll want to out Native Sun’s cooking station at NaVera Farms this November 15th for the Tour De Farm!
